I've come to realize that it usually takes me about two years to fully develop an idea. A few summers back in Maine, I stumbled upon a dark purple house that sparked something inside me. Over time, I started weaving that inspiration into my art and my clothing. The color shifts between dark shades, leaning towards brown or purple, and I find it utterly captivating. I wish I had a photo of the house that started this obsession but it just lives in my mind. Here is a painting of the Maine coastline I did that was inspired by driving by the house every day for weeks.
In my studio, I have an inspiration wall hanging that showcases this color beautifully, reminiscent of Faye Toogood's fall collection and the wild moodiness it embodies.
This color palette has significantly influenced my latest Tulips Series, which will be released on December 4th and 5th.
You can check out my latest Instagram post, where I'm covering the canvas with this captivating color.
During my time in Maine, I also tried on a teal Lindquist Eggi bag at Judith, but the color didn’t quite resonate with me. When Lindquist introduced new colors, I seized the opportunity to get the Eggi bag in Sumac, which perfectly added to my everyday style while still feeling authentically me.
Speaking of Sumac…
